End User Guide

Welcome to INMYNAMEKYC. This guide will help you complete your identity verification and onboarding quickly and securely. .

1. Check Your Email 

  • You will receive an email from your law firm with: 
  • A unique reference code (your personal registration code). 
  • Clear instructions. 
  • App Store / Google Play download links. 
  • A short FAQ for reassurance. 
  • This email is your official starting point — keep it safe. 

2. Download the INMYNAMEKYC App 

  • Click the link in the email for your device: 
  • Apple App Store (for iPhone/iPad) 
  • Google Play (for Android phones) 
  • Install the app on your device. 

3. Begin Onboarding with Your Reference Code 

  • Open the app and enter the reference code from your email
  • This connects your details securely with your law firm’s records. 
  • You’ll then create your secure account using your name, email, date of birth, and address (postcode lookup is built in). 

4. Consent & Privacy 

  • You’ll see a welcome screen explaining how your data will be used: 
  • Checked securely by Entrust, our trusted identity partner. 
  • Used only for legal identity and compliance — never for marketing. 
  • Covered by our Privacy Policy
  • Tick the consent box to continue. 

5. Identity Verification 

  • Upload ID: Photograph your valid passport, UK driving licence, or national ID card. 
  • Take a Selfie: Match your face to your ID. 
  • Background AML Checks: These run silently (address, DOB, electoral roll, credit header, etc.). 
  • If verification fails, you’ll be prompted to retry. After 2 failed attempts, your documents will go to manual review

6. Review and Sign Documents 

  • Once ID is verified, you’ll be shown your onboarding documents: 
  • Terms of Business 
  • Client Care Letter 
  • These open in DocuSign for secure e-signature. 
  • Use your finger or mouse to sign where prompted. 
  • Copies are securely stored and emailed to you and your law firm. 
  • If unsigned after 24 hours, you’ll receive a reminder. 

7. Make a Secure Payment 

  • After signing, you’ll be asked to authorise a one-off payment via GoCardless. 
  • The amount is pre-filled based on your legal matter type — you cannot change it. 
  • Enter your bank details (name, sort code, account number, email). 
  • Confirm and authorise the payment. 
  • You’ll receive an on-screen confirmation and a receipt email

8. Completion 

  • You’ll see a confirmation: 
    “Your details have been securely submitted. We’ll be in touch soon.” 
  • Your law firm is notified immediately. 

9. Common Questions 

  • What IDs are accepted? – Passport, UK driving licence, or national ID card. 
  • Can I use an expired ID? – No, only valid documents are accepted. 
  • What if I close the app mid-way? – Don’t worry, your progress is saved. Just log back in with your reference code. 
  • Why a Source of Funds check? – Required by law in some transactions (e.g., property purchases). 

Tip: Use good lighting and make sure the whole ID is visible when taking photos. 
Reminder: All emails will come from your law firm or INMYNAMEKYC — if in doubt, check with your solicitor.
